The Ruins of Tru

Westbridge, trading hub and recently liberated city from the Vectorians, was at the forefront of Ror's mind today. The people in this city needed its spirit uplifted. And to do so, he had proposed a theatre and school be build. And so Ror found himself in the library of the TriPower Kingdom with the map of Westbridge in front of him. He needed to find a location  for the buildings in the city and it was quite a hassle. Leaning back in  his chair, Ror contemplated the situation at hand.

It all boiled down to the same thing, didn't it? There was probably not enough space and something might have to go. But what? And if you were going to take down one thing... well there was a whole list of things that one could wish for to be improved. You could send children to school but with the gangs in the south of the city, that was easier said than done. Besides, with people beaten into poverty who could miss an extra pair of hard-working hands? Finding teachers is relatively easy. Helping people send their kids to school? Very problematic. And for the theatre, to stimulate culture in town, you need people to be able to pay their tickets. In short, this place needed jobs that paid well. In other words, economic growth that allowed the common man to rise above his current standing and send his child to school.

He scratched the side of his face and muttered under his breath about the complexity of the problem. He needed to talk to some Keepers of Balance leaders that would hopefully tell him he not to draw this out bigger than it needed to be. But what if they would agree with him? The sheer time  it would then take... and keep him away from his books....  He leaned forward. What a scary prospect.

Shaking his head, he rolled up the map and put it away. It was too soon to think about that, he told himself. Best to put it aside. After all, Sanria had said that the other leaders would take over from her and chat with him about it and that hadn't happened at all. So there was still plenty of time. And Ror was determined to use that time well.

In fact, today he would meet up with a Radiant Heart leader, Psycho, and they would discuss matters on Westbridge on Ror's request. He wanted to visit the Ruins of Tru to check out the Theatre there as Sanria had suggested. But the place could be dangerous and so he needed a little help. Getting up from his chair, and putting his coat back on, he wondered if that theatre would be similar to the one in Daggerford or not. It probably was, otherwise she wouldn't have suggested it, would she?

Ror smirked, before fastening the top button of his uniform and exiting the library.

Westbridge Aftermath - Ror's Letter

Dear leaders of the Radiant Heart and Keepers of Balance,

My personal thanks for the liberation of Westbridge. It was - with lack of better words - complex for the treaty bound TriPower. I am quite joyed that I can once more walk through Westbridge at peace.

Unfortunately, when I look around I still see the damage done in the faces of the men and women of Westbridge. And this is something that grieves me.

I was wondering whether there were any plans to open a school and university for the return of education to the city? It would do the young children good. And additionally for those without family, of course a new orphanage. Or what about a theatre so culture and joy may once again bloom in Westbridge?

Now that the Vectorians are gone, I feel many institutions are needed to once more uplift the spirits of the people of Westbridge.

Patiently awaiting your answer.

The fall of General Buxbaum (Revelation 3 of 3)

Alsin examined the pet shop only to find that the only exit was where he had entered from. Alsin turned and peered out the window and saw General Buxbaum rushing towards the shop. Alsin shrugged and once again grasped his weapons. General Buxbaum kicked the door open and stepped into the shop his eye locked on Alsin. "There is no where to run, and Lord Kefka is dead. There is nothing to save you now." Alsin looked at the general, "If the Vectorian Lord is dead, there is no reason for us to fight. I'll give you a second chance, sheath your weapon and just let me go."

General Buxbaum grinned at Alsin and then lunged forward to attack. Alsin dodged the attack and was hessitant to fight back. The two fought for several minutes, but it was obvious Alsin was holding back. As the two circled General Buxbaum managed to catch Alsin slightly off guard and his blade caught Alsin on the side of his chest. The wound was slight, merely flesh this time, but enough proof for Alsin that only one of them would walk away from the fight. Alsin began to counter attack and General Buxbaum started to reel. The General had seen many battles but he had never encountered a combantant such as Alsin. Alsin pierced General Buxbaum's leg then sliced his left arm causing him to drop his weapon. Alsin kicked the General to the floor, and stood over him ready to deliver the final blow when out of the corner of his eye he could see a swarm of heroes rushing into the pet shop. Alsin stepped back, worried the mob of heroes would attack him, but to his surprise they began to assault General Buxbaum. Wounded and disarmed the General stood no chance and was killed quickly. His corpse was looted and left laying in a puddle of blood on the ground and the mob of heroes rushed off. Alsin sighed and sheathed his weapons. The walk home for Alsin seemed much longer this time, but his mind was filled with one thought, "Perhaps now, with Lord Kefka dead, there is a possibility of peace if I join the Tripower. Perhaps now is the time to approach Mason Stonehammer."

The fall of Lord Kefka (Revelation 2 of 3)

Alsin was surrounded with no where to go. A Vectorian Soldier knocked him to the ground. He rolled about the floor trying to regain his wits. Alsin managed to stand up while avoiding many strikes. He made a few swift movements with his blade killing a couple Vectorian soldiers before again being caught from a blindside and knocked to the ground. The situation seemed a bit helpless, he found himself in a sea of purple. Alsin again made his way to his feet but he stagged back from the blows that the Vectorian soldiers directed at him. Once again Alsin was knocked to the floor, and just as another Vectorian Soldier was about to strike a Radiant Heart Soldier appeared and deflected the blow.

Alsin looked around and realized he was at Market Square. The Radiant Heart army and several heroes were engaged in combat with Lord Kefka in the center of the square and around them were many more heroes and Radiant Heart soldiers attacking the little bit of the Vectorian Army that was left. Alsin stood up and just as he was about to sheath his weapons Lord Kefka's armor shot a powerful bolt of lightning toward him. Alsin dodged the bolt and decided to join the rest of the heroes in battle against Lord Kefka. It wasn't long before Lord Kefka fell to a vital strike delivered by a Radiant Heart General, the amount of heroes and soldiers combating him was astonishing, and watching him fall even more so. Alsin was relieved that the fighting was done, but the sight of all the fallen and the blood that filled the streets was all too familiar to him. He has seen such death and war before, but in the past it was his family, his kin, and his men that covered the streets. "I need to get out of this....." Alsin muttered to himself as he sheathed his weapons and started his walk to his house. As Alsin made his way past Festival square he could see Radiant Heart soldiers were finishing off what was left of the Vectorian guards. Alsin lifted his cloak over his head and made it a point to avoid the combat, yet in the distance he spotted General Buxbaum. Alsin turned the corner and made his way to the Pet Shop in an effort to stay hidden, but General Buxbaum spotted him in the distance and there were no more soldiers to fend him off.

Playing both sides (Revelation 1 of 3)

Alsin awoke to a thunderous noise outside his house. He stagged out of bed and opened his door to examine the noise. Soldiers were marching, two armies colliding outside his door. Alsin shook his head and muttered under his breath, More violence, hasn't this land seen enough wars.... As he was closing his door two soldiers wearing red and yellow garments yelled at him, "You there, we have come to end the Vectorian rule. Help us bring down the tyrrany that is upon us."

Alsin shook his head in disgust and began to shut his door when out of nowhere another soldier appeared, this one jamming his foot inside the doorway. Alsin stepped back and let the door swing open, his hand swiftly shifting to his weapons discretely. Alsin examined the soldier and noted his ensignia was that of an officer a general. The man began to speak, "I am general Buxbaum of the Radiant Heart Army, lend us your home. We have many wounded and could use an aid station." Alsin shrugged and quickly responded, "If will lend nothing and neither do I support your war. You soldiers have no place here so leave before I'm forced to make you regret your choice in coming here." Buxbaum grinned at Alsin and huffed, "So you're a Vectorian, and thus you shall die with the rest of the scum that lay dead in the streets." General Buxbaum reached for his sword but before he could even unsheath it, Alsin had slipped passed him into the entryway. Alsin quickly dispatched the two weaker footsoldiers lurking in his entryway and before their bodies could hit the floor Alsin turned around and kicked Buxbaum square in the ass. As General Buxbaum staggered forward regaining his balance Alsin spoke again, You have no place here, this is your last chance to leave peacefully. General Buxbaum turned towards Alsin and yelled "KILL HIM, HE IS VECTORIAN SCUM!"

Alsin turned and only had a few seconds to respond as several Radiant Heart soldiers began to rush towards him. Alsin drew them away from his home and into the streets and the bloodshed insued. Alsin laid waste to several Radiant Heart soldiers, but the sheer numbers were causing him to flee farther and farther into the center of the city. As he retreated he soon found himself amoungst Vectorian Soldiers who were helping him fend off and kill the Radiant Heart soldiers. In the distance, Alsin could see General Buxbaum had given chase to him and the General put down several Vectorian Soldiers with ease, he kept a keen eye on Alsin the entire time. Alsin took advantage of being surrounded by Vectorian Soldiers to fall out of combat. Alsin made his way to Festival Square, it seemed that Vector still held it firmly, but General Buxbaum and his army were  advancing quickly. Alsin let out a sigh, knowing he'd be pressed to fight alongside Vector....or so he thought. In the distance the voice of Lord Kefka could be heard, "KILL THEM ALL, KILL EVERYBODY!", and with that single command the Vectorian Soldiers turned towards Alsin.........

A Late Night Stroll : The Note (Part 3)

The note was written with sloppy, boxy letters:
I have committed several murders, though my recent murder  occurred just yesterday. To find the woman I killed and the details  involved, please speak with Serenity Kaze or the Order of the Radiant  Heart.

Suddenly, the writing in the note changes to a cursive:
Those of evil intention with a heart plagued with hate beware...If you do  not renounce your evil ways, then you will deal with us soon enough  and you might not be as lucky as this man here.
-The Order of the Radiant Heart

A Beautiful Day (Part 2)

Rain started falling, first lightly and then quite heavily. Serenity stopped in front of the entrance hall to the Order and then knocked upon the door. She was greeted by a dwarf with black flaming hair. She could not believe her eyes as she saw black flames surrounding this person's body. She smiled tentatively at the dwarf and said "I have something I wish to bring to the attention of the Order of the Radiant Heart. I witnessed a man murder a woman without hesitation or reason. It was quite clear that evil had long seeped the soul of this man." The dwarf nodded at Serenity and said "Come in. Some of the others are sitting by the fire. By the way, my name is Psycho." Serenity nodded and said "It's a pleasure to meet you Psycho. My name is..." "Serenity. Serenity Kaze." said Psycho. "We know of you because of the message you placed with us a few weeks ago." "Good" thought Serenity "I was able to gain their attention and show them that my intentions are true and pure."

As Serenity entered into the clan hall, she curiously glanced around...hoping that she was setting her eyes on a place she would be able to be a part of. But for now, there were greater matters at hand. Psycho and Serenity entered a room, with a fireplace that held a warm, toasty fire. Standing beside the fire was a tall bald man, with blue eyes and a pointy beard. He turned his head toward Serenity and Psycho. He smiled and said "What do we have here?" A blonde elf was sitting beside the fire. He glanced at Serenity and then glanced back at the fire. Psycho said "She says that there is something she needs to bring to our attention. Something quite important." The elf sitting beside the fire nodded and turned again to Serenity. "My name is Crovax. Please tell me your urgent news." Serenity nodded and told the Order of what she witnessed.

The faces of the Order grew somber, but there was a sense of eagerness. "An eagerness to dispose of this evil" thought Serenity. When Serenity finished her story, Psycho said "Well it seems that we must find this man at once. Draven",he turned to face the man standing beside the fireplace, "I don't suppose you've heard news of this man Serenity described to us?" Draven glanced at Serenity and back at Psycho "Unfortunately not." Crovax stood and said "Earlier today, while I was at Phil's Bar, I heard about this man, distinguished because of his scar underneath his jaw line. I overheard someone say  that they saw him renting a room at the Healing Wound Inn." Draven turned to Crovax and said "Well then. Can we go tonight?" Crovax smiled at Draven and nodded "We go tonight. The sooner we rid the  realms of this evil, the sooner the world can be free to prosper once  again." Psycho turned to Serenity and grinned "I don't suppose you  have time for a late night...shall we say...stroll?"

A Beautiful Day

It was a beautiful day. The skies were gray and Serenity could feel that rain was coming to the city of Westbridge. Serenity loved blue skies, but just as much as she loved blue skies, she appreciated the days when the world was filled with gray. It gave her a sense of calm and tranquility. Serenity stopped in front of a building and walked in. Tom's Bakery had to be one of her favorite places in Westbridge. The smell of bread baking and the sweet smell of Danish's filled her lungs. She took a deep breath and smiled at the baker. "Beautiful day, isn't it Tom?" Tom wiped some flour on to his apron and nodded at Serenity. "Sure it is kid. What'll it be today?" Serenity smiled and said "Whatever just came out of the oven is fine with me." Serenity left the bakery and started walking toward her new home.

She took a big breath of air and then a big bite of her freshly baked cinnamon roll and let the warmth fill her. "Delicious" she thought. "Today will be a wonderful day." She smiled to herself and continued on home. Serenity took the last bite of her cinnamon roll and took a deep breath, breathing in the lovely scent of flowers. Then there was a blood curdling scream that made Serenity's heart skip a beat.

Running towards the scream, she bounded around the corner and into an alleyway. There stood a figure wearing a hat and a dark coat towering over a woman in a red dress. The figure averted their eyes from the woman and glanced at Serenity with disgust and then slit the woman's throat with one swift motion. The figure ran around the corner, revealing a deep scar underneath his jaw line and a silver bracelet peeking from just underneath the coat. Serenity ran after him, but to her surprise, there was no one to be seen on the street. She ran back to the dead woman, who now lay bleeding in the alleyway. Serenity closed the mystery woman's eyes with her fingers and prayed to the gods and goddesses to watch over this woman as she ascended into the heavens. Serenity stood. She had to avenge this woman's murder and find out about the man who stole this woman's life. Justice will be served and the evil of this world will be removed, one way or another. Serenity started running towards the first place that came to her mind when she thought of justice, good and fighters against chaos and evil. She ran to The Order of the Radiant Heart.
