Log: 24122013 - DAQ, Ror and Aneh

OOC commentary: Three session roleplay between Aneh, Ror and DAQ. How DAQ awoke and joined the ranks of Tripower.

Log: 18122013 - Quyen and Calliope

OOC commentary: Some live roleplay part of "The Muse" roleplay. After Quyen rescued Calliope, they lurk in a sanctuary. However, when they are ready to continue their journey, they find themselves elsewhere. Or as they say: from the frying pan into the fire...

The Muse (Part 8)

Quyen turned the page of the journal log written by Calliope. Above him a small ball of light floated, providing light and warmth for those inside his magical shelter. After not being able to find a quick way back home, Quyen had decided to hide them both somewhere. Somewhere was the right word. Somewhere safe. Somewhere without exits and entrances. He bit down on the stick between his teeth rather than a cigarette, as to not suffocate them both with cigarette smoke. So she thinks me strange, huh? He turned another page and read about the merchant and eventually about the gnome. He wondered about the things she had written down. What did they mean? What did she discover that she had done? He squinted at her. Obsessions are dangerous, girl, he thought. With his right hand palm he touched her forehead and checked the temperature, pushing her black locks out of her face. Warm, but not feverish. He pushed his coat away and checked her bandaged body to see if any of her wounds had reopened again. But they hadn't. Smiling, he placed his coat back over her and leaned back.

The coat slowly moved up and down by her steady breathing. And a melancholic feeling crept over Quyen as he thought back of the past. Damn, you look so much like her. So this is what you meant Ror? Bastard. He closed his eyes and rested while he could. She probably had questions when she woke up.

The Muse (Part 7)

*Scrolled in a neat blue script, a Journal log lays open.*

22nd Day of Eleasias:

Finally, it was found, the device of my imprisonment. The young cleric of the Tripower had been so eager to help her. It was the same day I met a strange wizard named Quyen, who oddly enough had been on his way to see Ror. As a healer, I felt the need to help the man in any way I could but our time was short lived as the device in the book would take me very far from this city. Packing my things I left for the City of New Thalos once more, where I hoped he would be able to help me.

28th Day of Eleasias - The Merchant Knight:

The city was much as I remembered it a few months ago. A new business had opened up though it seems and karts and workers with a Blue Rose entwined around a sword were nearly everywhere it seemed. Even some of the larger ships in the harbor had the insignia emblazoned across their sails that could be seen from even the markets. It was difficult to find him at first, but I soon realized that it was his insignia that everyone seemed to wear these days. After finding his office I was told by a rather frustrating goblin secretary in bright pink glasses that only visitors with appointments could be seen. He recognized my voice however and upon opening his door and seeing me greeted me as a long lost friend.

He was a powerful man once again, a story he briefly told me but more important was that he had clues to my past. He mentioned the gnome I needed to find. The gnome even he had been searching for and the one that had got us into all that trouble so many years ago. After some debate about sending guards with me to help, I convinced him to let me ride in an airship bound for Waterdeep.

5th Day of Eleint - The Gnome:

I found the little bastard. Right in the middle of the market. He gasped and tried to run as soon as he saw me. The slippery eel nearly tore his own coat off trying to get away. In the end, he yielded. Even though he had was the one who started us down the path of creating the instruments, I didn't harm him. The words he spoke were those of remorse and sadness.  The short balding gnome with bright green hair had something he hoped  to show me. Something I would have to let him leave and then return for. What this item could be I could only guess at, but I let him go to find....
*The words scroll off as if interrupted or the Journal was closed quickly  with the quill still in the pages.*

Quyen looked up from the book and back to the sleeping priestess whom he had tended to all last night. There was something very odd happening, very odd indeed.

The Short Cut II

Ror walked down the hallway towards the Makou Gateways, while Quyen followed. Arrived, they stepped into a circular room surrounded by windows. Normally, there would be a perfect mixture of energy and natural sunlight, but tonight only the eerie glow of makou-fueled energy illuminated the Gateway Room. Quyen studied the large gates before turning his attention to Ror. The resonating energy seemed to cast a shadow over the elf that made him look like the rippling surface of a lake, too dark to see into. It scared Quyen. "Not many wish to stay long near these Makou Gates, " said Ror, "it's the energy levels. To be honest, I find it quite soothing to be here. " Quyen grunted, "Yeah whatever, this definitely does not float my boat. Which one do I need? " Ror pointed at a gateway to the right of Quyen. "That one leads directly to Waterdeep, City of Splendors. If I am not mistaken, the destination of Calliope. " Quyen spat a cigarette butt out and lit a new cigarette to keep his nerves under control. "I hate portals, " he said, as the first whisps of smoke rose up toward the dome. "Let's get this over with. "

Ror nodded. He knew Quyen for a long time now, as well as his hatred for portals. In fact, Quyen hated all things wizards did. Casting spells, stepping through portals and relying on magic. It was why Ror liked Quyen so much.

"Do you know how to get back? " asked Ror. Quyen, loading an arrow onto a crossbow, looked up from the weapon and said sarcastically, "I click my heels three times, Dorothy? " Ror chuckled, "Looks like you'll be alright then. Nonetheless, I brought a map for you in case... " But Quyen was already stepping through the portal, loaded crossbow in his hand.

The Short Cut

Between the copper fingers of Quyen's arm was a half-eaten apple. He was waiting for the guy in front of him to finish talking to Ror and when the man had finally buggered off, he stepped forward and nudged to his friend.  "Guess who made it in?"   Ror chuckled and nodded, "I read the report."  Quyen rolled his eyes, "Your lady friend was a tough cookie, but she's just your type you know."   Humored, Ror leaned back in his chair and said, "I see.  Well, I guess that's good news.  Did she tell you to keep a close eye on me?"  There was silence across the desk and Quyen spat out an appleseed.  "I see.  She's been worried a lot of late, but trust me I will not do anything stupid before you return."  Quyen tossed the remainder of the apple in the bin, and fetched a pack of smokes from the pocket of his coat.  As he drew a cigarette out and tucked it between his lips, he changed the subject, "You asked me to come.  I'm here, talk."  Ror planted his elbow on the armrest and leaned against his left hand.  "There's a priestess by the name of Calliope who recently left the city for the Port of Thalos.  I believe you met her recently?"   Quyen frowned, "Damn man, you know more than is good for you, you know?" He lit the cigarette with a flame that sparked from his finger.  Ror smirked, "Ah!  It's my job to be well-informed.  Especially within the city walls of Torregiano.  That said, you better hurry to catch up with her.  Or you could take the portal of course."

Smoking, Quyen raised an eyebrow, "A portal? Where's that?"

Log: 12102013 - Ror and Rakasha

OOC commentary: No matter how short the roleplay, sometimes it's good just to catch up!

The Visitor II

At the tip of Ror's finger a flame danced and lit the cigarette. Ror leaned back into the comfortable chair and whisked the flame out at the same time. Across him, in an equally comfortable chair, sat a man with short, dark hair and blue eyes, dressed in black. His boots and crimon red coat were drying at the grand stone fireplace of the Tripower's formal dining room. The man across Ror warmed himself by the fire as he sucked the cigarette and let the smoke rise. A comfortable moan of content came from the man and he pushed his feet a little closer to the fire. "This is really nice. "

Ror chuckled and nodded, "Better than getting soaked in the rain. No, don't give me that look. Be thankful the guards came to fetch me to begin with. Usually they ignore beggars. " He smirked. "Bastard, " mumbled his soaked friend.

"So, Quyen, " started Ror, "what brings you here? " The man referred to as Quyen chuckled, then replied, "I once promised you to follow you to the end of the world and beyond. I never thought I'd actually live up to that promise one day. "

Ror stayed silent, but nodded, "So this in your homeworld, eh? " asked Quyen. Once again, Ror nodded. "Yes, and still in turmoil, but I will do my best to fix that. Hence why I joined Tripower. " Quyen smiled, "I see. Well then, I better sign up then as well, not? " His smile turned into a smirk. And Ror could not help but smirk with him.

The Visitor

Someone shook Ror awake. He had fallen asleep in the library, despite the weather outside. Now there was a tripower guard standing next to him. "Huhn? "  uttered Ror as he was dragged back into the real world from his dreams, "Sir, please wake up, sir? "  Ror grumbled, "Yes, yes, I am awake. "  He rubbed his eyes while the book he had been reading slided to the floor. "What's the matter? "  "There's someone outside battering the gate, sir. For the last half hour, calling your name. " Ror sighed and got up, "Alright, alright, let's go check it out then. Any idea who it is? "  he asked curiously. "No idea, sir. "  Together they walked to the gatehouse and Ror soon found himself spying on the man outside. "Anyone you know, sir? "  Ror shook his head, "No, nobody I - No wait! "

Had he seen that right? Yes he had!

"Open that gate! We have a guest! " he said, his face a mixture of happiness and surprise.

The Visitor

Thunder rolled across the landscape as a furious storm hit the port of Torregiano. The rain poured down on the roofs that were illuminated  from time to time. Then thunder struck the jetty. Followed by a backlash  of magical energies twisting their way into this world. For a short moment  a portal existed. Lightning struck again, this time elsewhere, but as  the light made the jetty flash up, a man was standing there. The rain  drenched his cigarette and he grumbled. He picked it from between his  lips with his mechanical arm and tossed it away. He started to walk through  the downpour towards the city. He could see the tower that he had spied  before. The location of which he knew his friend was now living. He dragged his soaked boots through the streets until he eventually stood before the gates of Tripower and looked up, the rain battering his face.

"Rooooooooooooooooor! " he yelled and he knocked on the gate, "Let me in you bastard! "

Log: 29092013 - Ror and Pika

OOC commentary: Still Pika doesn't know who Ror exactly is. The punk. *g*

Plans

Meanwhile in Ror's office, Ror finished the last of the intel reports. The last one informing him that one of the esper tribes had a radical leadership change by murder. Keeping an eye on what remained of esper society here was something Ror valued. After all, Vector was always nearby. Always on the mind...

Done with his work for today, he stood up and started pacing around  his room while thinking. He found that walking around improved thought. He was brooding on something. Something which he had discussed with Aneh before, but still...

All life came from the lifestream and was energy. Magic too came from the lifestream and was energy. Espers, highly magical, consisted out of energy as well. Magitek and makou were ways of harnessing energy. In his mind he drew lines between the facts, spinning a web of relations. Everything came from the same source. So then, he thought, so are you, Kefka.

It was a devious plan, one that had worried Aneh, but Ror had good faith in it as it was in essence fairly simple. After he had acquired many pieces of Kefka's armour, he and Psycho found out there was more to them than met the eye. Kefka had somehow latched onto them. And to prevent the bloody armour from re-assembling, Ror had boxed and locked away every  piece separately and put under 24 hours surveillance. Safe and sound in the Tripower, but yet, it was a temporary fix. A final solution needed to be found. He had tried to destroy one piece, but it had been an extremely  tough deal. A dangerous deal.

But there is a way, thought Ror, Kefka's soul is not the problem, but the key to the solution. Lifeforce is energy, and Kefka's power was stolen from the espers. All I need to do, is to take back what was never his...

He stopped before the map of Cruoris and narrowed his eyes when they fell on the Vectorian Empire on the map. When I have back what you stole, Ror thought, I will annihalate Vector along with ever man, woman and child that supports it. There shall be no quarter...

A knock on the door broke Ror's concentration and the rage ebbed quickly away. Fixing his composure, he said, "Enter." And the door swung open, revealing a young recruit.

"Sir! It is I, sir, Robin? " said the boy slightly nervous.

Ror waved his hand in the go-on-go-on motion and Robin explained he  had been assigned to watching the DAQ in the basement during Rors shifts. Ah yes, thought Ror, "In case something changed, " interjected Ror. The boy nodded and Ror smiled. "Finally. " He took his coat off the peg and stepped past the boy into the hallway. "Well, what are you waiting for? Tag along and give me your report as we walk to the lab. I don't have all day, you know. "

The young recruit gulped, "Yes, yes, sir! " And hastened after Ror.

Kids? Really?

Pika stood in the middle of the orphanage. His eyes strayed to a little girl who looked at him questioningly. Pika stood frozen until a child is heard crying upstairs. SHIT! Pika looked around in a panic. What the hell was he supposed to do. His eyes locked with the little girl who still stood staring at him as if asking her for help.
"Mister, that's Milly she's prolly hungry. You gonna feed her?"
Pika looked down at the child in front of him and up at the ceiling above him.
"What's it eat?" Pika asked with a deep frown. The little girl stared at Pika worriedly. Was the orphanage seriously putting this guy in control? He looked like a lost kid himself. Slowly, moving her hands in a motion of eating, the little girl says
"Sheeee eeeaaaats fooooooood... You know what food is, don't you Mister?"
Pika snapped his chin down and glared at the young child. That little brat.
"Well where is the food, smartass?" Pika asked in an irritated tone. The young child simply shook her head and turned away. She picked up a dirty doll that rested against a wall along her way, skipping down a long hallway.

What... The... Hell... Pika glared back at the door Ror had left through and climbed the stairs to see about the crying baby. There had to be some kind of assistant around here! Where were they? A cook? Someone! Panic set in as Pika started his first official day as caretaker of the orphanage, a task he clearly was not prepared for.

Log: 22092013 - Ror and Arien

OOC commentary: The start of Arien's entry RP into Tripower. Fitting for a merchant! :)

Log: 21092013 - Ror and Pika

OOC commentary: Giving Pika some more responsibility... the hard way! :D

Log: 20092013 - Ror and Pika

OOC commentary: First encounter with the punk Pika. Of course Ror recognizes a punk when he sees one. He used to be a punk himself when he was young!

The Muse (Part 4B)

"Can't dwell on the past, have to move forward, don't worry about why it could happen," Ror tried to settle my thoughts but I couldn't calm down. The bottle in front of me levitated by my will then exploded and before the pieces flew out they stopped and imploded upon themselves and the bottle became nothing.

"You don't understand, I'M NOT GOING BACK THERE," I nearly screamed the last part and got more than a few odd looks from other patrons. We'd been drinking a while though and after some explaining about having to see a man about a horse, Hiroaki had to leave

"If I did this to someone, it's because death was too good for them. I'm going to find them before they find me." I breathed slowly to calm myself down.

"You're right, I don't understand. But that doesn't mean you are," he  said it so nonchalantly that it didn't infuriate me. "The Tripower has  walls that are high and might that is great, you could easily be protected  by us and we could use a priestess of your talent."

"I'm flattered you think so, I must admit the idea of being protected by you does seem rather nice, but I think I should at least wait until morning to commit to anything. It's late and I should make sure an Inn room is available." I smiled a at him and he showed me to the door and had the class to make one of the young airship attendents see me to one of the local Inns.

It was certainly something I hadn't thought about. Could there be those that could protect her from the fate she had suffered? Did she need to hunt her tormentor down? It seems this day has brought more questions then answers.

The Muse (Part 4A)

"I got leave Phil, Ale and keep it coming!" the handsome elf in a tripower officers military uniform loosened up his collar and sat at the bar. Uncorking the bottle of ale he was given, he poured a tall class full  of it and tossed some coins on the bar which were quickly picked up by  the bartender. Walking toward the bar I took a spot close enough to speak to him.

"Buy a lady a drink?" I asked of him my back to the bar but my eyes upon him.

"Of course," and he slid the glass down the bar into my hand without spilling a drop. Smooth, I thought to myself, he had a way about him that betrayed the grace of an experienced fighter. I amused myself with the thought that perhaps he could be a lover, not a fighter. But the Military Uniform squashed my sudden fancy. "Phil, seems a beautiful women  has gone and stolen my drink again, 1 more." He winked at me.

After exchanging pleasantries and a few moments talking about my profession and his status as a Leader of the Tripower, I asked him questions that would hopefully let me figure out how long I had been imprisoned. After some deliberation my first few days out, I had made it a point not to ask anyone directly. It might not be wise to go around talking about how little I know of who I am or what I've done. "Everything seems so different in this city, suppose that's the Tripowers doing?" I asked trying to coax information.

"In a way, various factions rallied to oust the Vectorians from this city and an all out war was averted." He seemed caught in thought and drank more ale. "Suppose it's been quite a few months since the city has been Westbridge and not that infernal Kefkaberg."

"Forgive me for asking, but I've been away, how long has it been since  they first attacked? Couldn't be that long with strong Tripower men like  you around." I drank more ale, it wasn't the best disguised line, but it would do. A bald average older man walked into the bar and Ror seemed to know him. He got up and greeted the man by handing him an ale.

"Forgive me, where are my manners, Calliope, please meet my very good  friend Hiroaki," Ror introduced his friend.

"Pleasure to meet a friend of Ror's," We sat back at the bar and I pressed  them about when Vector had first entered Westbridge.

"Must be, four or five years now," Ror thought and Hiroaki agreed about  the Time.

"Five years?" The world fell out from under me as I spoke. How could it be five years in that place, I knew it was long, and I should be thankful  it wasn't twenty. But five years had been stolen from me. I stumbled  off the stool and across the bar with a hand on the pool table and landed on the couch. Ror grabbed a glass from behind the bar and filled it with water from a spigot. Walking over to me he placed the glass in my hand and I drank it so fast I nearly choked.

"Easy now, what's gotten into you? Too much ale?" He grinned at her and Hiroaki made a joke about keeping the girl on top of the table rather  than under when drinking with them. "No, I'm just shocked at how long  it's been," They both looked at her quizzically and as she explained  they both nodded and offered words of encouragement.

Log: 16092013 - Ror and Calliope

OOC commentary: This was the first roleplay between Ror and Calliope. Hiroaki dropped by as well. Later Calliope wrote some rolenotes about it. People who pay close attention might spot a few differences. Although nothing major.

Come Alive

nnnnRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

The makou light in Ror's office flickered. "What the... " said Ror and he nearly fell off his chair as the room rocked on its foundation.

Aneh! The thought flashed through Ror's mind and before he knew it, he was out of his chair and running down the hallway. He sensed mixed signals coming from his fiancee. There was a lot of emotion and fear.

He yelled to the guards to follow him as he ran past them.

It took forever to get to the lab.

Why was the lab so far away?

Was it always this far?

Skipping half the steps on the stairway, Ror rushed to the entrance of the laboratory. There was a lot of smoke, rubble and personnel yelling.  "Evacuate and help these people, " commanded Ror before pushing himself through the small crowd of researchers towards Aneh, asking, "What happened? " And spotting the remains of an once sturdy lab door to the left of him, Ror put his arm around his fiancee in protection. Taking a deep breath, Aneh put her hand on his arm. "Well, I hope life happened... Look... "

"I see a destroyed laboratory, not to mentioned scared and wounded people... And the giant armour that... "
Ror fell silent. In the center of the wrecked laboratory, was indeed the armour that... It moved! Its arm went up and the helmet down as if it was studying its own gauntlet.

It was alive.

He knew it. Aneh knew it.

For a split second he thought, it worked! Then there was a tsunami of thoughts and risk analysis.

This thing had blown up his laboratory. It could harm them...

Still, it was strange and fascinating to see an idea come alive, literally....

He felt a tugging motion on his sleeve, "I have to talk to... Him... Her... " said Aneh, "I think him... "

Despite warning to be cautious, Ror quickly found himself in between the armour and his fiancee, functioning as her living shield.

As they approached, the helmet slightly turned to follow them....
